Leader of the Ghana Freedom party, Akua Donkor has been arrested by Police in the Ashanti Region for allegedly defrauding a trader to the tune of GHc10,500.
According to the complainant, Ama Yeboah, she purchased a piece of land from Akua Donkor in 2009 but has since been pressured by relatives of Akua Donkor to stay away from the said land.
She added she had called Madam Donkor to complain about the incident, but all efforts to reach her have proved unsuccessful.
Per a hint on Monday morning that Madam Akua Donkor was in Kumasi, the complainant quickly reported the matter to the police who carried out the arrest.
Akua Donkor is presently writing her statement at the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
In August 2017, an Accra Circuit court sentenced three persons accused of robbing Akua Donkor to a total of 60 years in prison.Â
