Akufo-Addo addresses nation tonight on Covid-19, IMF deal

President Akufo-Addo will address the nation tonight, May 28, at 8:00 pm.

The address will focus on measures taken against the spread of coronavirus and the IMF Programme

The last time President gave an address on Covid-19 was on March 27, 2022.

The update comes as the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on May 5, 2023 that COVID-19 was no longer a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) in a statement on May 20 announced that pre-departure testing and test at all points of entry were no more a requirement for all passengers.

Meanwhile the first tranche of $600 million out of the $3billion IMF programme hit the account of the Bank of Ghana days, ago according to  Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
