Amasaman: Two robbers jailed 17 years each

The Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced two men, Lawrence Fumato, alias Rasta, 28, and Daniel Dzoka, alias Alkaline, 20, to 17 years in prison each for their roles in a violent robbery at Agbazo near the Golden Exotic Farm in Accra.

The incident occurred on November 12, 2025, when the suspects attacked two victims with a pair of scissors and stole a Royal 150 motorbike, a Samsung phone, a Tecno Spark 8, an Itel keypad phone, and GH¢4,000.

Police intelligence led to the arrest of the suspects on November 17, 2025. They later pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery, contrary to Sections 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The court ordered that the 17-year sentences run concurrently.

The Accra Regional Police Command commended the community for its cooperation and urged the public to continue supporting crime-fighting efforts by reporting suspicious activities via 18555 or 191.
