President Akufo-Addo has pleaded with the chiefs and people of the Volta Region to embrace the registration of the Ghana Card.
The President criticized persons who are disseminating information that the registration process is designed to strip some citizens of their nationality saying he will never disenfranchise any Ghanaian of their right to nationality.
President Akufo-Addo made the remarks when he addressed the chiefs and people of Anlo State at Anloga in the Keta Municipality as part of his three-day working tour of the Volta Region.
According to President Akufo-Addo, the Ghana Card will improve the country’s statistical basis to enable government to rollout effective and efficient planning schemes.
He also noted that the National Identification Authority is implementing the NIA Law which has adequate provisions to ensure that every Ghanaian get a Ghana card.
