The 2017 Basic Education Certificate Examination [BECE] begins today June 5 at all Regional, Municipal and District centres across the country.

Speaking to Radio Ghana ahead of the commencement of the exam, the Public Relations Officer of GES, Jonathan Bettey said no student will be prevented from writing this year’s paper.

According to him “any student that has registered and is called a candidate whether the person is pregnant or any other thing that might be part of the person’s life should be allowed to write the examination, now emphasis has also been laid on the fact that student should not be prevented as a result of not being able to paid school fees.”

Rev. Bettey assured that measures have been put in place to prevent examination malpractices and leakage of question papers.
