The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a theft incident at London Borga, a suburb of Dormaa-Ahenkro.
The suspects, identified as 23-year-old Aaron Bawa and 25-year-old Michael Mawuli, were arrested following a police operation on the Sunyani–Berekum highway.
According to a police statement, the complainant, Addai Faustina, a 55-year-old farmer, returned home on December 12, 2025, to find that thieves had broken into her six-bedroom apartment and made away with two 65-inch Hisense television sets valued at GH₵24,000, a decoder worth GH₵350, and cash amounting to GH₵3,000. She subsequently reported the incident to the police.
The statement said a Regional Operational Patrol team, which was conducting a stop-and-search exercise on the Sunyani–Berekum highway, stopped a Toyota Sienta passenger vehicle with registration number BR 135-25.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of the stolen items, including the two television sets, a multi-TV decoder and remote control, as well as some electrical cables.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to stealing the items from Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region.
The suspects have been arrested and are currently in police custody to assist with investigations. Police say arrangements are underway to arraign them before court.
The police statement further assured the public of the Command’s commitment to fighting crime and bringing offenders to justice, while commending residents for their continued support and cooperation.
