The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a postponement in the disbursement of two types of allowances for employees in the education sector.

The allowances, which were initially set for payment in November 2025, could not be processed due to a technical problem encountered during the final payroll run.

This situation arises as part of the government’s continuous efforts to guarantee the timely payment of salaries and allowances to public sector employees, despite occasional technical challenges in payroll processing.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the CAGD indicated that the processing of these allowances was temporarily halted to avoid any disruption in the payment of November 2025 salaries for all Government of Ghana employees.

The department reassured affected employees that the issue is being addressed and that the pending allowances will be disbursed alongside December 2025 salaries on 18 December 2025.

“We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” the statement read.
