The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has expressed excitement about the return of Delta Air Lines’ non-stop flight from Accra to Atlanta in the United States.
The airline resumed this service on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The Minister in a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, said the re-introduction of the route is a positive development for Ghana’s aviation sector and international relations. He explained that the direct flight will make travel easier and more convenient for many Ghanaians, especially those who frequently visit the United States.
Ablakwa also praised Air Transat, a Canadian airline, for its decision to begin a historic non-stop flight between Ghana and Canada on June 17, 2026. He noted that these aviation improvements show growing confidence in Ghana as a travel hub.
According to him, the new flight connections will help promote Ghana’s economic diplomacy. They are expected to support trade, boost tourism, and create more opportunities for business partnerships.
Ablakwa added that Ghana looks forward to the benefits these developments will bring to both travellers and the country’s broader economic goals.
