The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that there will be a temporary power disruption in parts of the Volta and Greater Accra regions today, Thursday, July 10, 2025, due to a scheduled maintenance exercise.
The exercise, according to the ECG, is aimed at improving power supply reliability and service delivery.
In a notice issued to the public, the power distributor stated that the planned maintenance will commence at 9 am and is expected to end at 5 pm on the said date.
The scheduled maintenance is expected to affect people within Hodzo and its surroundings in the Volta Region.
For those in Accra, the exercise is expected to affect residents at Palace Mall, Airport Hills Estate, Mayfair Estate, Sowutuom, Israel, Race Course, Glefe, Wiaboman, Achimota Market, Achimota Old Station and surrounding communities.

The ECG, in its public statement, expressed regret over the inconvenience the scheduled activity may cause to residents and businesses within the affected zones.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform its cherished customers that the interruption in power supply is necessary to allow our engineers to carry out maintenance works on our transmission infrastructure. We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the statement said.
Customers are advised to take the necessary precautions and to treat all electrical connections as live during the maintenance period.
The ECG has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring improved and stable power delivery as part of its ongoing infrastructure enhancement and modernisation efforts.
