Private legal practitioner, Egbert Faibille Jnr., has downplayed the tape released by NPP MP Ken Agyapong, saying the tape does not establish proof of wrongdoing by Anas.

Ken Agyapong, on Monday June 4, 2018 aired a portion of his video that seeks to unmask Anas Aremeyaw Anas of his corrupt dealings in his investigation.

Ken Agyapong in a radio interview on Adom FM, said he is bent on revealing the corrupt nature of Anas Aremeyaw Anas in a video he has tilted “Who watches the Watchman” which will be officially premiered after Anas’ Number 12 screening on June 6, 2018.

According to Ken Agyapong, Anas uses fear to induce people to give him money. In the audio [feature above], a voice which Kennedy claims to be that of Anas is heard negotiating with some people for the payment of an amount of money.

Ken Agyapong claimed the payment of money was done to kill a story involving some fraudsters who were involved in some gold deal.

In the said audio recording leaked by Ken Agyapong, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is allegedly heard extorting money from a businessman, Hafiz Mohammed.

He is also heard mentioning the name of Egbert Faibille, a lawyer as being on standby to transfer an amount of money to the businessman.

However, in a quick response to the audio, Egbert Faibille in a Facebook post said the content of that audio is the details of the $5.7 million gold scam case involving businessman Hafiz Mohammed in which the latter was later arrested and prosecuted.

According to him, the businessman had defrauded Hafred Security Services, the Dubai company, he - Egbert Faibille was working for, and Anas had been employed by the company to track and arrest the suspect.

In a related development, Veteran Journalist Kweku Baako on Saturday, June 2 2018 rubbished allegations of bribery levelled against Anas Aremeyaw Anas by one Mohammed Hafiz.

Speaking on Joy FM’s news analysis programme, Newsfile, Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako said Mohammed Hafiz was subject of an investigation by the New Crusading Guide Newspaper led by Anas Aremeyaw Anas in 2009 which involved a GHS5.7million gold scam.

During the investigation, Anas collaborated with the Ghana Police to arrest Mohammed Hafiz, where he was sent to court but he was later acquitted and discharged by the presiding Judge, Justice Charles Quist. The judge was later busted in the Judicial Scandal in 2015 by Anas' Tiger Eye PI for taking gifts to influence his ruling in several court cases.
