Mohammed Bin Atef, one of the two terror suspects from Guantanamo Bay, admitted into  the country by the former government, has gotten married in Ghana.

The marriage according to US-based Lawyer of the former detainee, George Clark, was contracted in Ghana about two months ago though the said women is not a Ghanaian.

Disclosing to Accra-based Citi FM, the Lawyer confirmed that, his client got married while resident in the country because he wanted to live a normal life.

"He wants to live a regular life in the country like anybody. He wants to walk around, get married and have children and do normal things without special treatment,"he stated.

According to the Lawyer, it should not a problem for Bin Atef to get married while in Ghana, considering the fact that he has not been imprisoned in the country and his civil rights cannot be infringed upon.

Ghana’s Supreme Court on Thursday, ruled as unconstitutional the admission of the two terror suspects from Guantanamo Bay into the country. The judgement by the Supreme Court, the Lawyer said would be a difficult one for Bin Atef as he has not been feeling well for the past days.

"The situation would certainly be problematic for Bin Atef but he is waiting on his lawyers to know what to do next. This is premature to him and he would be worried,"he stated.

His client he said since his arrival in the country has been used for political games which he considers unfair and unfortunate.

"It appears to me that, he is used as a political football and he has nothing to do with that. Ghana has a change in administration, we have a change in administration as other countries do but that change based on a particular person is inappropriate but that is what is happening,"he added.

Bin Atef he said, has had problems since he came into the country and the situation has become worse with the change in government.
