Families of KUMACA swine flu victims given GHC 5,000 each

Families of students who died of swine flu at the Kumasi Academy school have received an amount of 5,000 cedis each.

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who presented the money during a visit to the school Friday evening, said it is to go towards catering for some of the expenses the families would incur in funeral and other arrangments.

He consoled the parents and assured them of government's determination to ensure the disease is brought under control.

Four student, three males and a female have died within the past two weeks at the Kumasi Academy of what has now been established as Influenza type A, H1N1, swine flu.
