The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and sister security agencies will today, Thursday, December 11, 2025, conduct a joint Show of Force exercise in Accra to demonstrate their readiness to maintain peace and security as the festive season approaches.

The coordinated drill will begin at 9:00 am from the Black Star Square, move through major streets of the capital, and return to the same venue.

According to a public announcement, the exercise will involve the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Ghana Immigration Service.

The operation aims to enhance operational preparedness, deter criminal activity, and reassure the public of the readiness of security agencies to safeguard national stability.

The event is described as a routine training exercise designed to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and reinforce a strong national security posture against potential threats.

Authorities caution that residents in Accra and surrounding areas may experience an increased security presence and temporary traffic slowdowns, but have encouraged the public to go about their normal activities.
