The Ghana Navy has received a locally manufactured catamaran boat from Mchammah Engineering Company Limited, a Ghanaian electro-mechanical, fabrication and manufacturing business.

The boat was handed over to the Ghana Navy in a short ceremony on Wednesday at the headquarters in the Burma Camp, Accra.

Receiving the boat, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, acknowledged the charitable gesture by the Mchammah Company Limited, stating the act by the Company would enhance the efforts of the Ghana Navy.

According to Vice Admiral Amoama, the partnership between Mchammah and the Navy is not only essential to national security but also demonstrates the local company’s dedication to helping the Navy fulfil its duty to the nation.

The Chief Executive Officer of Mchammah Engineering Ltd., Dr Ebenezer Kakra Hammah, stated that the construction and delivery of the ship was a component of a larger initiative to offer locally produced solutions to protect Ghana’s interests and marine safety.

The 20-foot boat, which has two hulls and is complete with a transport cradle, is to strengthen the capabilities of the Ghana Navy and also to promote local industries and fostering national development.

“We firmly believe that by collaborating and forming partnerships, we can instigate positive change and encourage the implementation of locally driven solutions for the betterment of our beloved nation,” he said.
