A flagbearer aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus "Goosie" Obuadum Tanoh, says current Ghana’s "economy is very vulnerableâ€.
He said for the economy to survive, government must direct its policies towards ensuring that Ghana
“It is not the oil that will make the economy resilient. It is the goods and services that we produce and all our designs and policies must be towards producing and consuming things locallyâ€, he explained.

“We need the dollar to survive. We demand dollars than we do to the cedi, but our economy is not responding to producing things that we need locallyâ€.
Goosie Tandoh said “we import rice, tomatoes paste. Unfortunately, everything is imported so it affects every governmentâ€.
