Deputy General Secretary of the opposition NDC, Koku Anyidoho has chided the General Overseer of ICGC, Dr Mensah Otabil for his comment that the media in Ghana are so “depressing” and full of “mediocrity” – a situation, he said, compels him to prefer watching foreign TV channels that show documentaries about animals rather than wasting his time listening to local radio or watching local TV stations.

According to Koku Anyidoho it baffles him that, some men of God were very vociferous during the erstwhile NDC administration, where some even went to the extent of using the happenings in that administration to preach to their congregants, but the same men of God have now decided to keep mute over various allegations of corruption, nepotism and cronyism within the incumbent NPP government.

Speaking to Kwabena Kyenkyenhene Boateng on '21 minutes with KKB', the maverick NDC executive said “suddenly today some pastors say that now they watch animals. It's animals that they watch, they're prepared to watch Antelopes and Giraffes...Yes, you'll watch more animals."

“...if NDC is in power that one you listen to human beings to prepare your sermon but when NPP is in power and they are doing horrible things because you cannot preach those sermons you are watching animals, they should go and live in the zoo. He should actually go and be preaching his sermons in the zoo to animals. Hypocrites and parasites”.
