The Government of Ghana has confirmed that a truck carrying Ghanaian tomato traders was caught in a terrorist attack in Titao, Burkina Faso, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
In a press release issued by the Minister for the Interior and National Security, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the government described the information received from Burkina Faso as disturbing.
According to the statement, the truck was transporting tomato traders from Ghana when it was caught up in the attack.
The Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso is currently liaising with Burkinabè authorities to visit the scene of the incident to gather details and assist in identifying any Ghanaians affected.
The government says it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as more verified information becomes available.
