Ghanaians bid a solemn farewell to Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, and MP for Tamale Central, and Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, on Sunday, August 10.

The Janazah prayers took place at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, followed by burial at the Military Cemetery.

The two senior officials were among eight people who perished in the August 6 Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region. Their burial, delayed for autopsies and official clearance, drew hundreds of mourners, including President John Dramani Mahama, the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament, the National Chief Imam, and other dignitaries.

Clerics urged the nation to remain united in grief and prayer, describing the late officials as dedicated leaders who served with integrity and commitment. The atmosphere was marked by both sorrow and gratitude for their years of public service.

A state funeral at Black Star Square is planned for Friday, August 15, to honour all eight victims of the crash, giving the nation another opportunity to pay collective tribute to those lost in the tragedy.
