The country is expected to receive hundreds of deportees from the United States of America(USA) within the coming weeks.

The deported Ghanaians would arrive on a charter flight. This is in line with a massive deportation exercise by the Donald Trump administration, US Ambassasdor, Robert Jackson disclosed to Citi News.

He says the USA is keen on deporting all nationals living in the country illegally and Ghanaians would be hugely affected.

"About 100 Ghanaians have returned so far this year and more would be returning within this few weeks. There would be probably charter aircraft coming with some Ghanaians in the next few weeks,"he stated.

He added that, "every week, a few have been leaving voluntarily  so it is a process ongoing. A few are in jail and most have been informed that they must leave the U.S.A."

Some 7,000 nationals have been affected already with about 100 Ghanaians also deported in the ongoing exercise.
