Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, M.J Akbar has said, the country will take Ghana along in its economic transformation agenda by building a stronger relationship.

Interacting with the Indian Community in Ghana under the auspices of the Indian Association of Ghana, in Accra, the Minister indicated that, India is about to take the world by storm as far as economic transformation is concerned and Ghana would not be left out in India’s quest.

According to M.J Akbar, “India will rip the British off their economic strength by building stronger relationships with countries that have a very bright future including Ghana.”

He added that Ghana and Africa at large have huge resources that could be used to create millions of businesses for the continent.

“It is strange that a country with numerous natural resources could be bleeding with poverty when systems could be put in place to ensure massive growth across all sectors of the economy,” he stressed.

Africa’s development he said has over the years suffered setbacks due to poor leadership.

“Africa is the brightest continent with sunshine and extraordinary natural resources which need to be tapped for growth in the age of equality where there is no big or small country,” he stated.

Every country he said deserves respect and the partnership and friendship between India and Ghana would ensure that both countries earn the respect they deserve.

“India’s relationship with Ghana started several years ago and it is about time it reflects on the development of both countries,” he stated.

President of the Indian Association of Ghana, Rajesh Thakker said, Indians in Ghana are the most respected foreigners in the country and must maintain their reputation.

Already he said, India and Ghana have been engaged in economic activities with companies including Airtel and TATA surviving in the country.

He also commended Ghana for the peaceful business environment that exists in the country for foreign businesses to survive.

India recently celebrated its Independence Day and the Indian Community in Ghana also held several activities to mark the celebrations including donating one million dollars towards developmental projects in Ghana.
