Residents of Jasikan in the Volta Region have lamented over the poor state of roads in their community following the constant rains.

According to them, both Akufo-Addo and his predecessor John Mahama made promises to fix the roads during their political campaigns but have failed to do so since the roads remain unconstructed. They say with the onset of the rains the situation has worsened.

Speaking to Joy FM, some residents stated that politicians in the country do not care about the plights of people who voted them into power.

''If ballot boxes can get to this place then how come they can't construct roads to this place? We are tired because the problem persists every time, our MP is also not forthcoming. We were promised by the former govt and current one to fix this but its still the same''.

Another said:'' They are not helping us they come and seek power from us, we gove them the power and they want to have everything for themselves. The same politicians are plying on this road they are using fortified vehicles, they don't care about us.''

''When it comes to election they will bring us buckets, soap to come and take votes from us , go and ride over us for the next four years,'' a resident indicated.

Also, here in the Greater Accra Region precisely Ablekuma-Mayera residents have been cut off from the rest of the capital after several hours of rain during the weekend.

Drivers in the area have refused to communte residents to their destinations following the deep potholes described as 'oware' on the stretch.

Report indicates that residents this morning had to wait for over three(3) hours for a vehicle to convey them to their destinations.

Again, schoolchildren could not go to school because their parents are not willing to risk the receding waters.

For workers who are determined to get to their jobs and destinations, they have to walk through the waist level water-way meant for vehicles.

So far, only heavy-duty vehicles are able to cross.

Residents living close to Ejisu junction among others have bemoaned bad nature of roads which have stalled economic activities and caused health complications, especially in pregnant women.
