Justice Pwamang to act as Chief Justice in Baffoe-Bonnie’s absence

Acting Chief Justice of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, will be out of the country from Monday, August 18, to Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Justice Baffoe-Bonnie communicated this absence in an official circular dated August 13, 2025.

During this period, the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, His Lordship Justice Gabriel Pwamang, will serve as Acting Chief Justice.

The notice detailing this interim arrangement was distributed to all Justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and High Court, as well as heads of judicial divisions and units.

Copies of the circular were also sent to members of the Judicial Council, the General Legal Council, and the Acting Judicial Secretary. Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, who assumed the role of Acting Chief Justice following the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, extended his compliments to all recipients in the official communication.

Justice Pwamang will oversee judicial responsibilities until Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s return on August 29th.
