Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has announced its intentions to carry out a mass burial for bodies that have remained in their morgue for some time now.

The management says the move has become necessary following the congestion of the Hospital’s mortuary.

In a statement issued Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the Hospital says the mass burial scheduled to take place the next two weeks covers bodies that have been in their facility between one to three years.

“These bodies have been in the morgue for varying periods ranging from one to three years, and this has contributed to the exhaustion of the morgue’s capacity,” it added.

The hospital has, therefore, urged families who have the bodies of their relatives in our mortuary to come for them.
