The Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, has sworn in a new Board of Directors of the Electricity Company of Ghana.

At the swearing in ceremony, the Minister charged the new board to introduce a realistic process to safeguard the jobs of the current workers of the power distributing company when it's privatized. Adding that ECG risks a declining performance of staff if the issue and many others are not duly addressed.

Meanwhile, President Nana Akufo Addo has accentuated that the coming on board of a private management will least affect job layoffs at the company.

But, the staff of the company are demanding firmer assurances.

The new Board of Directors of the ECG is chaired by Kelly Gadzekpo, CEO of Enterprise Group.

The members include; Ing. Carlien Dorcas Bou-Chedid, Ing. Samuel Boakye Appiah, Madam Maata Opare.

The rest are Alhaji Ahmadu Kaleem, Matthew Nyindam, John Kojo Akorful and Odeneho Kwaku Appiah.
