The Director for Human Resource Management at the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has disclosed in a correspondence to all Registrars that beneficiaries of the Nation Builder’s Corps (NABCO) have been relieved of their duties.

Mrs Dedaa Wiredu Agyei in the leaked correspondence indicated that although the NABCO programme ended in October last year, the trainees remain at post fat the Ministry.

The programme is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems.

The focus of the initiative is to solve public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance and drive revenue mobilization and collection.

The letter directing that the trainees be sacked runs counter to a government’s directive for all NABCO beneficiaries to remain at post.

NABCO beneficiaries have been complaining that their allowances for at least ten months have not been paid them.

Furthermore, an initial promise to absorb them into other regular employments remains uncertain.
