A nine-year-old boy has had his eye scorched at by his mother for allegedly failing to watch over her beans stew.

The awful incident occurred Saturday at Ahantamo near Akrodie in the Asunafo North District of the Brong Ahafo.
The mother, known as Sister Birago, scorched her son’s left eye because he sneaked away to play football and allowed the family' beans stew for dinner to burn.
Birago who could not tame her anger , later grabbed the son by the neck and used the hot ladle which was being used to stir the stew , to burn the boy’s left eye .
According to atinkafmonline, the boy was kept indoors to keep the assault case from the police and neigbours in particular . Efforts to get in touch with Sister Birago have proved futile. Indications are that she has left for a gospel crusade at Akrodie.
