The late Deputy Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Dramani Bukari, was laid to rest today in Damongo, in accordance with the Islamic tradition.
As part of the burial arrangements, the Islamic clergy offered a sermon on the inevitability of death, followed by funeral (Janazah) prayer at his family residence. It was attended by family members, management and staff of NPA, colleagues and well wishers from across Ghana.

Following the prayer, the remains of Dr. Bukari were conveyed to the Damongo cemetery for burial in line with the Islamic tradition.
Hundreds of dignitaries, industry captains and mourners joined the burial ceremony to bid farewell to Dr Dramani Bukari and offer condolences to the bereaved family.

Dr. Dramani Bukari passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, after a short illness.
As a Deputy Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Dr Dramani Bukari spearheaded the NPA’s Center of Excellence and championed the implementation of the 24 Hour Programme in the downstream petroleum sector.

He served in various capacities and was widely recognised for his humility, discipline, commitment, selfless leadership and love for family, friends, subordinates, colleagues, and leaders.
Dr Bukari was a husband, father, mentor and an academic.
