One arrested as Police foil robbery attempt on Tutuka-Akrofuom road

The Obuasi Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service has successfully prevented a robbery attempt on the Tutuka-Akrofuom road in Obuasi.

In a swift response to a distress call, the police arrested one suspect, identified as Pascal Yenkye, while several others managed to flee and are currently on the run.

 

According to reports, officers pursued the gang into a nearby bush, where the suspects abandoned two unregistered motorbikes and a machete in their attempt to escape.

During the chase, Yenkye was apprehended but sustained a leg injury while attempting to flee on his motorbike. He is currently receiving medical attention under police guard.

A manhunt has been launched to track down the remaining suspects.

The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to maintaining security, law, and order across the country.
