The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested six suspects believed to be members of a robbery and gang rape syndicate operating in Juaso in the Ashanti Region, following an intelligence-led operation.
The suspects, identified as David Adusah, also known as Vibes; Samuel Amantor, known as Road; Andrew Odei, also known as Salinco; Sharif Mohammed, also called Isco; Joseph Addo, known as Moves; and Chidi Arinze, also known as Orga Happiness, were arrested on January 8, 2026.
Police said searches conducted at the residences of the suspects led to the retrieval of 49 mobile phone covers, a bayonet case, a green dress resembling a military uniform, and a photograph showing the alleged leader of the group dressed in military-style camouflage.
A Toyota RAV4 vehicle, believed to have been used in the group’s criminal activities, was also retrieved and impounded.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted their involvement in the reported robbery and gang rape cases.
On January 12, 2026, the suspects were arraigned before a court and remanded into lawful custody to reappear on January 28, 2026, to enable the police to complete their investigations.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that all persons found culpable will be held accountable for their actions.
