The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has elected Rev Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante as the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church.

Rev Prof Yeboah Mante beat his two other contenders, Rev Dr Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor and Rev Dr Victor Oko Abbey, who was the Acting Moderator.

It was the third time Rev Prof Yeboah Mante was contesting the position of a Moderator

The new moderator succeeds Rev. Prof. Cephas Narh Omenyo who could not seek re-election due to chronic illness which rendered him ineffective a few months after he was elected Moderator in 2016.
