The Central East Regional Police Command has secured a conviction against 25-year-old Kolie Samuel for a daylight robbery incident at Millennium City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, the incident occurred on July 10, 2025, around 5:30 a.m. near the Golden Pride Preparatory School.
The convict, Kolie Samuel, allegedly robbed a female victim of her handbag containing an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse with an unspecified sum of money.
Acting swiftly on intelligence and with assistance from the victim, police tracked Samuel to his hideout at Ngleshie Amanfro, a suburb of Accra, and arrested him on the same day of the incident.
A search on the suspect led to the retrieval of the stolen iPhone and several other suspected stolen items, including:
- One Dell laptop
- Two Itel mobile phones
- One Nokia phone
- One Alcatel phone
- One Vodafone WiFi device
- Two pairs of AirPods
- One gold necklace
- Three wristwatches
- One lady’s purse and a wallet containing a health insurance card bearing the name Kwapong Sahnan and ten memory cards.
These items are believed to be linked to additional robbery activities yet to be fully investigated.
Following a thorough investigation, Samuel was arraigned before the Ofaakor Circuit Court on July 15, 2025, where he pleaded guilty to robbery and causing harm. The court sentenced him to 14 years for robbery and 5 years for causing harm, to run concurrently.
