The Children Support Fund established for the welfare of children of victims of the August 6 helicopter crash has received GH¢8,600,905 and US$20,000.00.
According to an update released by Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, the donations were received between September 23 and October 12, 2025.
The donors include Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Kow Eduakwa Sam, BOST Energies, Bui Power Authority, Energy Commission and Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Limited.
Others are Israel Quarme Arye, Timothy Addai Adivilah Balagkutu, Agencies of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and Augustus Obuadum Tanoh.
The fund was established to ensure the welfare of children of the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.
Donations may be made to the fund via Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts at Stanbic Heights Branch in Accra.
The Ghana Cedi account number is 9040013628372 while the US Dollar account number is 9040013628534.
Cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to Children Support Fund 6825.
MOMO payments can also be made via payment platforms provided by the fund.
The helicopter crash on August 6, 2025 claimed eight lives including Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sarpong, National First Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Aboagye, former parliamentary candidate, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
The officials were traveling to Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme when the crash occurred.
