The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance exercises across parts of the country beginning Monday, February 16, 2026, warning customers to expect temporary power outages in affected communities.
The maintenance works, which will take place in the Tema, Greater Accra, Accra East, and Central regions, are aimed at improving service delivery.
In the Tema Region, ECG said it “will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” with outages scheduled between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
The first exercise in the region is set for Tuesday, February 17, and will affect Comm. 16, 17, and 24, Sydal Farms, Adjel Kodjo, Japan City, Global, Teteman, Baatsonaa (Total and Cluster of Schools), Resolve Hospital, Timber Market, Bakeshop, Marina Mall, and surrounding areas.
On Wednesday, February 18, the maintenance will impact FOS Aluminium, Kakalika Plaza, Shell Signboard, Kpogas, and nearby communities.
A third exercise in the Tema Region on Thursday, February 19, will affect Lashibi, Emef Estates, High Tension, Celebrity Golf Club, Jotafa, Sakumono (Village and Estates), and surrounding areas.
In the Greater Accra Region, residents are expected to experience longer outage periods from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
An ECG notice indicated that on Tuesday, February 17, areas including Odorkor, Awoshie, Odorgonnor, Gbawel, Israel Last Stop, Agradaa, Tuba, Krokrobite, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku, and surrounding communities will be affected.
Further maintenance exercises in the region are scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, covering Wiaboman, Glefe, Kotoku Shell Filling Station, Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, Kings University, and nearby areas.
On Friday, February 20, Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Cassava Farm, Oshiyie, and the surrounding communities will also experience outages.
In the Accra East Region, ECG announced that on Monday, February 16, power will be interrupted from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in UPSA Hostel, Trinity, Mempeasem, School Junction, parts of Adjiringanor, Obinim Church, Kanda Estate, and surrounding areas.
Another exercise on Tuesday, February 17, will affect Mantey Tsuru, TS Guest House, La Cemetery, Burma Camp, Dzorwulu UBA Bank, Odateye Tsui Road, and nearby communities.
On Wednesday, February 18, Ablor Adjei Township, parts of Cantonments, Abokobi Township, parts of Teiman, Adenta Container, Abenwoha, and surrounding areas will also be affected.
In the Central Region, ECG stated that on Tuesday, February 17, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the outage will impact Eduyaw Owane, Mando, Abaasa, Essarkyir, Goamoamaim, Baah, Afransie, Amai, Eshiem, Entumbil, Ochiso and surrounding communities.
ECG has urged customers in the affected areas to take the necessary precautions during the maintenance period, assuring that the exercises are part of efforts to enhance power supply reliability.
