Ghana’s Parliament resumes sitting today, marking the beginning of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
The sitting is expected to commence at 2 pm. at Parliament House in Accra.
Members of Parliament are expected in this Meeting to consider key legislative business, including the presentation and approval of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, as well as several important bills and committee reports.
The Third Meeting will also focus on scrutinizing national fiscal plans, reviewing existing laws, and ensuring effective oversight of government activities.
Two newly elected National Democratic Congress MPs, Bernard Bediako Baidoo for Akwatia and Professor Alidu Seidu for Tamale Central, are set to be sworn in during the meeting.
Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin had originally scheduled the meeting for October 14 but postponed it, citing circumstances beyond his control.
