Former Ghanaian international footballer, Michael Essien, has described the state institutions and media houses seeking to bring down businesses of Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) as “zombies”.

Michael Essien said the Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Zylofon Media, Zylofon Cash, Zylofon Properties, and other companies, is one of the few Ghanaians who want to bring “hope to the youth of this country”.

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are currently on the heels of Menzgold Company Limited over what they claim as illegal operations by the gold company.

Menzgold has subsequently sued the two entities over what it deemed as unfair treatment from these state institutions.

Prior to the legal action against BoG and SEC, JoyNews’ Israel Laryea visited the London office of the Menzgold and reported that “the UK office of Ghanaian gold dealer, Menzgold, does not operate the same business model which has gotten it into trouble with the Securities and Exchange Commission”.

“The London office of Menzgold is a rented space in the massive Berkeley Square House block which houses about a thousand or more businesses, mostly seeking short-term leases”, Israel Laryea reported.

The above report by JoyNews irked the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, causing him to take to popular photo-sharing app, Instagram, to register his displeasure.

NAM 1 posted along with Israel Laryea’s photo: “Hello Israel Laryea, today I celebrate your stupidity and retarded mindedness. Set up a provision store today in a kiosk and employ just one Ghanaian. That is more than the pursuit of this evil smear campaign agenda. Maybe you need to be reminded; I am a businessman and not a politician. You can’t break me! Business is not a thing for the pope. Think about it. God bless you”.

The issue attracted several positive and negative reactions on both traditional and social media.

Reacting to the issue on his facebook page, Michael Essien said “once you start integrating yourself into the world, you realize that people are nasty, mean creatures. They are worse than zombies”.

“One single individual who has brought much hope to the youth of this country.

A Non-Politician who has invested more than what our tax has been able to do all these years after colonial rule.

When I view into the adhesion of the gentleman, I see success, prosperity and good vision for our generation.

A visionary man with a vision to make his country prosper. An icon for the youth to look up to.

If state agencies have issues with one aspect of his business, why don't we allow the state rules and regulation takes it due process than the pessimistic approach and attack at him.

A media house that supposes to bring sanity to its listeners and viewers rather prefer a PULL HIM DOWN syndrome just to destroy his reputation.

NAM has all of a sudden trigger the selfish Ghanaian Politician who has a little authority not even wisdom from God to tarnish, demise and strategically plot to bring him down.

Always try to live in your head because in there, everyone is kind and innocent.

Once you start integrating yourself into the world, you realize that people are nasty, mean creatures. They're worse than zombies.

People try to crush your soul and destroy your happiness, but zombies just want to have a little nibble of your brain.

GHANA SHALL PROSPER, NANA APPIAH WILL OVERCOME ALL THIS DAILY WORRIES”.
