Two arrested over fatal stabbing of 20-year-old man in Asankrangwa

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man at the Asankrangwa Education Area on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

According to a police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was chased and stabbed multiple times by a group, including the two suspects, following a misunderstanding between the victim and one of the suspects, identified as Kwasi Opong.

Police said swift action led to the arrest of 36-year-old Opong and 23-year-old William Francis Osei, who are currently in custody assisting with investigations. Efforts are underway to apprehend another suspect who is on the run.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The Command assured the public that all persons involved will be brought to justice and urged residents with relevant information to contact the Asankrangwa police.
