Two in custody for threatening lives of President Mahama, Lordina

Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a disturbing social media video in which a man is seen issuing threats to the lives of President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama.

In a statement, the Ghana Police Service confirmed that a full-scale investigation has been launched into the incident to determine the source, motive, and potential risk posed by the threats.

The suspects, identified as Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu, are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators with inquiries. Authorities have assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the President, the First Lady, and the general public.

Police further urged the public to refrain from making or sharing content that could incite violence or threaten national security, warning that anyone found culpable would face the full rigours of the law.

POLICE INVESTIGATE VIRAL VIDEO ON THREAT TO THE LIFE OF H.E. THE PRESIDENT

The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into a viral TikTok video in which an individual is heard threatening the lives of the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the First Lady.

So far, two people, Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu, are in Police custody assisting the ongoing investigation while efforts are underway to get other persons believed to be connected to the video to assist the investigation.
