Ghana’s Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is in the United States to take part in the 2025 Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, a major global forum on food security organised by the World Food Prize Foundation in Des Moines, Iowa.

A statement issued on Monday, October 20, 2025, stated that the Vice President is expected to deliver a keynote address on Ghana’s progress in ensuring food security, promoting sustainable agriculture, and empowering women and youth in agribusiness.

During her visit, Professor Opoku-Agyemang will also hold bilateral meetings with development partners and join a roundtable discussion focused on innovation and agricultural transformation.

Her participation, according to a statement from the Office of the Vice President, reflects Ghana’s strong commitment to building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems that contribute to global food security.
