Victoria Beckham reportedly cried for two days straight after her husband David described their marriage as 'hard work', according to reports

. The fashion designer, 44, was said to be 'embarrassed' and 'absolutely devastated' that the father of her children was so 'insensitive', insiders told The Sun.

A friend claimed that the star was 'in pieces' over the interview, two days after which Victoria checked into a German retreat which specialises in emotional balance, something a representative for the Beckhams has denied.
An insider dished to the publication: 'When Victoria was given the heads-up on Wednesday about David’s interview, she was absolutely devastated.

'She has no idea why he would say such insensitive things and publicly embarrass her like this. As you can imagine, it was as if a nuclear bomb had gone off in the Beckham household when she found out.
The insiders' scoop comes after the mother-of-four revealed she had checked into a German retreat just two days after David's controversial interview.

The 44-year-old took to Instagram on Friday to share a picture of herself looking more Sporty Spice than Posh Spice in her workout gear.

She wore a black vest top, matching leggings and white trainers as she peered out from under a Reebok baseball cap, while perched on top of a mountain.
The mother-of-four wrote: 'Amazing experience at @villastephaniebadenbaden spa in Baden-Baden x #Wellness.'

She also shared a picture of the view on her Instagram stories, writing: 'Beautiful day in Baden-Baden.'

Villa Stéphanie is a high-end spa with a difference in that it focuses on body and mind. According to the website,  the House Of Wellbeing situated on-site, covers medical, emotional, detox, fitness and beauty.

They write: 'The Destination Spa, housed in the historic Villa Stéphanie adjacent to Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, offers an integrated approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on four distinct areas combining beauty, detox and nutrition, emotional balance and medical care.

Whether it is for an annual medical check, recovering from illness or for a specific stress management, detox, nutrition or fitness programme, Villa Stéphanie’s team, coupled with its stylish design, offers the ultimate place to get well, get healthy and improve your life.'

It is not yet known which package Victoria opted for herself, the hotel even has an on-site dentist as well as its own medical team.

Suite packages can cost upwards of £17.5k, including weight-loss and detox programmes, tailored to the client's needs. MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Victoria Beckham for more information.
It comes as little surprise that Victoria would want to enjoy some rest and relaxation.

Her husband of 19 years, David, said in a preview for his upcoming interview on Australian TV show The Sunday Project, that things become 'little more complicated' when two people have been married for a long time.

He said: 'I think marriage is always hard work, your children, they want your time and they deserve your time. And difficult situations like being away from each other. You make it work.'
Discussing the public interest in his marriage, David admitted that he's learned to focus on the positive.

He shared: 'I've grown to ignore the negative stuff. I think if you know each other, you know you have great friends, a great family behind you.

'The thing we have to do is protect our children.'

It comes weeks after David's absence from a Vogue magazine cover shoot featuring his family sparked rumours of trouble in paradise.
Back in June, unsubstantiated rumours circulated on social media that David and Victoria were heading for a divorce.

But the power couple were quick to dismiss the reports, with a spokesperson branding the speculation a 'crock of s**t'.

After tying the knot in Ireland in 1999, David and Victoria have spent years defending the state of their relationship and denying claims they are on the brink of divorce.

The couple, who began dating in early 1997, share four children - Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and seven year-old Harper.
