Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will threaten people who insult him with death when he becomes president.

Speaking to Accra-based Accra100.5 FM on Wednesday, Mr Nketia said the NPP flabearer did not have the tolerance level of President John Mahama.

According to him, whereas the president keeps quiet when he is insulted and criticised in the media, Akufo-Addo is not able to exercise the same level of restraint.

Mr Nketia said: I believe if Nana Addo were the president of Ghana, he would resort to threats of death against anyone who crticises him. Instead of responding to such critics on the airwaves, I believe he would call them and threaten to kill them if they do not stop criticising or peddling falsehood about him.

"That is how I see Nana Addo because even though he is not yet a president, he has threatened to kill Adakabre, so, if he becomes the president of Ghana and gets the coercive forces of the state at his beck and call, don't you journalists think he will kill you ‘rough rough?"

The NDC General Secretary's comments failed to take into account the fact that Adakabre Frimpong-Manso has retracted accusations that Nana Addo threatened to kill him and has apologised thereof.Â
