Despite the decision by the Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the Convention People's Party (CPP) to drop charges of 'acts of indiscipline' against the suspended national executives, the two were on Monday morning physically prevented from entering the headquarters of the party Monday morning by some supporters.
National Youth Organiser, Ernesto Yeboah and General Secretary, Nii Armah Akomfrah were suspended indefinitely after they publicly condemned President John Mahama for accepting a Ford care valued around $100,000 as a gift saga from a Burkinabe contractor, Djibril Kanazoe.Â
Their condemnation contradicted the position of the party's flag bearer, Ivor Greenstreet who stated at the time that it did not "feel wrong" for the President to accept a gift from a businessman despite it contradicting a code of ethics for the Executive.
The two were referred to the party's DC whose report made available last Friday stated that “after several reminders, no charges were brought before the Disciplinary Committee as at the time the Committee sat ….and concluded their deliberations….â€, 14 days after the chairman’s promise.
But according to reports, supporters loyal to the party Chairman, Edmund Delle who have rejected the DC's report prevented the two from entering the party's offices.
While the disciplinary committee report says the two have been cleared because no formal charges were pressed against them during the committee’s sittings, the Delle camp says the committee had no right to publish their report since it has not been vetted by the party.
