General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says President Akufo-Addo deliberately spoke Twi whilst addressing religious leaders on the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) just to deceive foreign partners.

Mr Asiedu Nketia alleged that the government has already received monies from donor partners to roll out the programme in basic schools.

President Akufo-Addo brought clarity on the government’s position on CSE revealing that Cabinet kicked against its introduction.

Speaking at St. Cyprains Anglican Church in the Ashanti Regional capital over the weekend, the President said as an avowed Christian, he will not introduce anything that will corrupt the moral fibre and impact negatively on the future generation.

He has since been commended by religious leaders who had threatened to lead a massive demonstration to express their displeasure against CSE.

But, Mr Nketia on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Monday, October 7, 2019, said President Akufo-Addo was not sincere.

He explained that there are manuals for teaching CSE from kindergarten to primary six approved by the government.

Even more worrying, the NDC scribe said is the decision by President Akufo-Addo to speak in Twi knowing well that, the development partners don’t understand Twi.

General Mosquito, as he is popularly called, noted that the President is just being smart because he is preaching virtue and practicing vice.

“We expect the President to tell us they have cancelled the agreement and also rejected monies for CSE implementation. Until then, we will treat everything he said as mere rhetoric,” he added.
