Member of the NDC legal team, Abraham Amaliba, has said Ghana will not be peaceful if the Chair of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Charlotte Osei, is removed from office.

The Private legal Practitioner is of the view that, the NPP  government is using the system to intimidate the EC chairperson a situation which he says will not augur well for the stability of the country.

EC Boss Charlotte Osei has been asked to respond to 6 allegations out of the 27 allegations made against her by her two deputies Amadu Sulley (in charge of Operations), and Georgina Amankwa (in charge of Corporate Services) in January 2018.

According to reports, only six of the twenty-seven levelled against her were deemed valid, for which she would have to answer before the committee.

This was made known after she appeared before the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court on December 11, after the President forwarded a petition by Forson Ampofoh and Godsway Dzado, both drivers at the EC office for her impeachment in relation to alleged corruption and mismanagement.

In an interview with  Accra FM on Tuesday, December 12, Mr Amaliba said: “These are the worrying signals. How can you drag somebody to your committee without giving the person a copy of the document and everybody is keeping quiet?”

“…What has the woman done? She has declared election results in your favour and so what again do they want from her that they are using the process to harass her?

“Where are the CDDs? Where are the Occupy Ghanas? If it were to be the NDC government all these people would be speaking by now. Where is Emile Short? Where is Professor Martey? This country will burn and we will see where all of us will be and so they should continue doing it.”
