Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals, despite being reduced to nine men during their 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich.

Second-half goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele settled the contest in favour of Luis Enrique's side, who had William Pacho and Lucas Hernandez sent off later on.

Bayern's quest for a third Club World Cup title ended and their misery was compounded when Jamal Musiala suffered an horrific injury during the first half in Atlanta.

Chances had not fallen too freely during that opening period, though Dayot Upamecano saw a free header ruled out for offside.

Manuel Neuer came to Bayern's rescue at the other end, with a smart reflex save denying Bradley Barcola early in the second half.

The breakthrough finally arrived for PSG in the 78th minute. Joao Neves played a one-two with Achraf Hakimi before teeing up Doue, who drilled a 20-yard strike beyond a flat-footed Neuer.

However, the UEFA Champions League winners were reduced to 10 men shortly afterwards when Pacho was shown a straight red card for a high challenge on Leon Goretzka.

Harry Kane's header was disallowed for offside before Hernandez was also given his marching orders when he caught Raphael Guerreiro with a trailing elbow.

Nevertheless, PSG stood firm and sealed the victory in the fifth minute of stoppage time as Dembele, who rattled the crossbar moments earlier, swept a superb first-time finish beyond Neuer.
