The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has announced it will reopen nominations in Electoral Areas and Units where no nominations were filed for the upcoming elections.

The reopening is being done in accordance with Regulation 12 of the District Level Elections Regulations, 2015 (C.I. 89), the Commission says.

In a statement signed by Mr. Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman, Operations, the EC said Nomination Forms may be obtained free of charge at its District Offices, or downloaded from Monday, November 3 to Thursday, November 13, 2025.

The statement said, completed Nomination Forms must be delivered in quadruplicate by the Candidate “personally or by the Proposer or Seconder to the Returning Officer of the Electoral Area / Unit for which the Candidate seeks election, from Monday, November 10 to Thursday, November 13, 2025, between the hours of 9:00 am and 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.”

Also, the EC directed that completed Nomination Forms must be delivered together with two (2) copies of a recent bust sized photograph against a RED background.

For the affected Electoral Areas the Nomination Forms must be witnessed by the signature or mark of the Proposer and Seconder, and supported by eighteen (18) other persons who are resident and registered voters in the Electoral Area, it said.

For the affected Units, the Nomination Forms must be witnessed by the signature or mark of the Proposer and Seconder, and supported by eight (8) other persons who are resident and registered voters in the Units.

The EC directed also that enquires relating to the Elections should be addressed to the relevant Returning Officer at the District Office of the Commission in the affected areas.
