The Electoral Commission has acknowledged receipt of "the petition submitted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC)" at the end of the 'Enough is Enough' demonstration.
In a statement signed by its Deputy Chair (Operations), Samuel Tettey assured that the EC would offer a "response in the coming days".
In addition, the election management body informed the public "the process of producing the final register is in its early stages".
He added that the Commission is aware of the critical importance of the voters’ register in ensuring fair and transparent elections.
The EC expressed its willingness to engage with the NDC on their concerns.
“We assure the NDC and all stakeholders of our avowed commitment to delivering a credible and robust Final Register ahead of the December 2024 Elections,” Tettey stated.
NDC executives and supporters on Tuesday, September 17, staged a nationwide protest against the Electoral Commission and its refusal to allow for an independent audit of the voters’ register.
