Despite insisting on a number of occasions that he does not work for the government, the presence of former Executive Director of Danquah Institute, Mr Gabby Otchere-Darko at the United Nations has courted some controversy with his accusers alleging that his trip to the UN was facilitated by government.
Mr Otchere-Darko was recently accused of being part of an alleged “mafia†group at the Flagstaff House that has hijacked the presidency and virtually running affairs at the seat of government.
Notable amongst his accusers were the Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyepong and Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah who maintained that his influence on the president goes as far as determining the portfolios of the president's appointees.
Although he rubbished those allegations saying his only job was to look out for the interest of his clients in the legal/corporate world, a video currently being circulated on social media seem to suggest that those allegations may not die a natural death.
In the said video, Mr Otchere-Darko could be seen walking on the street of New York while an unseen person (Male) probably the same person filming kept taunting him with allegations that he (Gabby) has created a barrier around President Akufo-Addo making him inaccessible.
His accuser went on to say that Gabby was a special aide to the president who charges $20,000 a person before facilitating a meeting with the president.
While Mr Okyere Darko could be seen with his phone glued to his ears and calm throughout the duration of the video, at least two distinct voices could be heard in the background speaking in Twi and Hausa who kept insisting that the president doesn't listen to anybody because of Okyere Darko.
"When you want to see the president, you have to give him 20,000 dollars, but here is he walking on the streets of New York." one of the hecklers taunted.
At a point, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accra-based Citi FM, Samuel Atta Mensah popularly known as "Sammens" had to interject to refute the allegation of being part of the government delegation.
"You tell me that I took your money"?, he said but the heckler retorted "You came with our government delegation."
When Sammens insists that he can show his passport, perhaps to prove that he was not part of government delegation, the heckler insisted that he indeed came with the  delegation, adding that:" We know everything, you cant pretend"
During the last part of the video, the heckler could be heard speaking in Hausa saying that "We are just telling them the truth."
President Akufo-Addo Thursday afternoon delivered his maiden speech to world leaders at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York but that would not go without some controversy on the home front with some Ghanaians questioning why certain personalities were included in the government delegation.
Key amongst several questions were the basis on which people are selected to join the president on his trips.
Coming under criticism are Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba and Deputy Chief of Staff Abu Jinapor who appeared to be taking a selfie while the president gave his speech at the UN.
