Presidential nominee of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Edward Nasigri Mahama has pledged that his party and his good self will abide by the ruling of the High Court regarding the party’s case with the Electoral Commission (EC).

The Electoral Commission maintains some endorses of Dr. Mahama’s nomination papers forged their signatures and endorsed more than one presidential nominee.

The PNC contests the claims saying it had no means to know if an endorser had endorsed another presidential nominee. The party also challenges the forged signature claim.

According to the PNC presidential nominee and party leader, when he heard the EC’s disqualification on radio, he later got letter from the commission to that effect.

He explained, he wrote to the commission and even submitted the letter personally hoping to have a hearing but was ignored adding even his lawyers who sought to confer with the commission head, Madam Osei were also neglected forcing him to head to court to seek redress.

He informed Bernard Avle on the Citi Breakfast Show that his disqualification had an effect on his campaign.

“We were set to embark on our Volta Regional tour to outdoor my running mate who hails from the region to the electorates when the news came so we had to stop. We were to raise funds from people but had to stop as well,” Dr. Edward Mahama disclosed.

The PNC leader observed the commission did what it deemed right but the court is there to settle the score adding he was optimistic about emerging victorious since he was a Christian who believes in Jesus Christ.

“Those who believe in Jesus won’t be put to shame,” he stressed.

He declared a believe in allowing institutions to work adding that explains why he is not out campaigning since he did not want to  prejudice the case which will be heard on Thursday.
