The Member of Parliament for Builsa North, James Agalga, has been appointed Majority Leader in Parliament following a ministerial reshuffle by President John Dramani Mahama.
The appointment follows the nomination of Mahama Ayariga, the current Majority Leader, as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs-designate.
Meanwhile, President Mahama has nominated the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, as Minister for Defence-designate.
A statement from the Presidency said Mr. Adjei has been reassigned to the Defence Ministry and the changes have been submitted to Parliament through the Speaker in line with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
As part of the reshuffle, Ahmed Ibrahim, Member of Parliament, has been reassigned from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The President has further nominated Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP, as Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation-designate.
The nominations are subject to approval by Parliament.
