Kofi Wayo lauds Akufo-Addo for banning the purchase of state vehicles

The leader of the United Renaissance Party Kofi Wayo has lauded government’s decision of placing a ban on the purchase of state vehicle by government officials.


Government policy used to be that government officials could buy state vehicles which were over two years old.


President Akufo-Addo speaking to journalists at the Peduase Lodge in the Eastern Region said the policy had been abused and should therefore end.

In an interview with Radio Ghana, he said the move will help government to channel some of the funds to the villages to help the market women and farmers.


“When I told you people 20years ago, we have to congratulate him for taking that step because when you go to the villages and see how the people are suffering there is no paramedics, the guy is …….has to beg for 20 Cedis to buy medicines."


"Yes it will save money and will come to the village to help the village people, the market women, the farmers they don’t get pension,…” he added.
